Job Description
We are looking for a qualified Content Manager to join our growing team. This person will be responsible for developing the voice for all aspects of the organization’s online presence. In addition to writing, editing and proofreading content, this person will facilitate the publishing of our content to our owned sites, as well as national media partners and sponsors. The content manager will be primarily responsible for growing and developing our existing digital presence through blog, email and social channels through a comprehensive content management system. Lastly, the content manager will oversee a team of copywriters and social media specialists to ensure a cohesive brand message across all platforms.
This role is full-time. We offer a remote work environment with office space available in Indianapolis, IN.
Qualifications + Requirements
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions.
- Attention to detail with good organizational and time-management skills.
- 3-5 years experience managing and writing content for a high traffic website and growing brand.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office and WordPress
- Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
- Experience with social media strategy and/or execution.
- Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Management experience is preferred.
- Experience with podcast strategy and execution is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, journalism or a related field.

Responsibilities
- Develop content strategy aligned with short-term and long-term marketing plans.
- Write, proofread and edit content that is distributed through the blog, podcast, social media and email channels.
- Build and manage an editorial calendar and content distribution plan to online channels to increase engagement and web traffic.
- Identify new content opportunities and ways to repurpose existing content.
- Editorial requirements include basic SEO understanding, content categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement.
- Manage team of content writers & social media specialists to ensure brand consistency.
- Work with sponsors to generate value through content production and promotion.
- Use content management systems to analyze website traffic and users engagement metrics.
- Stay up-to-date with developments and generate new ideas to draw audience’s attention.
- Ensure compliance with law (e.g. copyright, data protection, FCC).
