After less than a year of delivering daily lunch deals to the inboxes of hungry users, Indianapolis-based Daily Lunch Deal has been acquired by Crusader Deals Enterprises LLC, a leading operator and consolidator of daily deal businesses.
Founders Robert Baer and Joel Curtis began providing lunch deals in February 2011 via their website, DailyLunchDeal.com. The startup rapidly grew their user base after signing on deal providers including some of Indy’s best lunch spots.
“We are very excited to partner with the Crusader Deals team” said Robert Baer, Co-Founder of DailyLunchDeal.com. “Our members and merchants will greatly benefit from being a part of Crusader Deals larger community.”
Daily Lunch Deal was able to gain the attention of Tampa-based Crusader Deals by signing on Indianapolis restaurants and customers while consistently providing good lunch deals and customer service.
Daily Lunch Deal worked with DeveloperTown, a tech business accelerator, to develop their e-mail-powered business. When asked about their work on the project, John Wechsler, Partner at DeveloperTown, spoke highly of the Daily Lunch Deal founders, “They did a great job of bootstrapping their way to success. Having worked with them since the spring, I was most impressed by their work ethic and intimate knowledge of their customers and marketplace.”
The daily deal site acquisition officially closed in December and terms were not disclosed.
