ProjectDiane2018, a biennial demographic study of the state of Black Women Founders and the startups they led found that, “Since 2009, Black women–led startups have raised $289MM in venture/angel funding, with a significant portion of that raised in 2017. This represents .0006% of the $424.7 billion in total tech venture funding raised since 2009.” This event is centered around this alarming statistic.
We have invited four women to come speak about their experiences as a woman of color in the entrepreneurship arena. This time is centered around their experiences and open for any specific questions you may have or advice you are seeking. Our goal is to inspire others in the community to see themselves in these positions. Markets across the nation are composed of many different groups of people and our hope is that one day the people inspiring innovation are reflective of that.
