We are looking for our first Lead Product Designer to join the Discovery pod!

As a Lead Product Designer on Tinder’s Discovery pod (under the “Core” pillar) you will be focused on improving and extending experiences where our Tinder members discover each other for the first time. You will refine existing products, and innovate new ways for our members to experience dating in the 21st century, through a research-focused design practice.

What you'll do:

  • Be a champion for product excellence and quality across Product and Design, collaborating across the org to ensure Discovery experiences are cohesively integrated into our core user journeys.
  • Help /mentor those around you. Be dedicated to continuous learning and encouraging an environment of transparency, respect, and flexibility.
  • Be the design owner for core app navigation, and coordinate with partners across the company to define and implement standard methodologies.
  • Test concepts with users, and refine based on your findings.
  • Iterate on design, based on feedback from team members, collaborators and users.
  • Analyze and adopt best practices, via articles and outstanding app examples.
  • Communicate works-in-progress via project management tools, such as Monday.com.

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years professional experience, with 5+ in mobile design on multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Desktop, etc.).
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration. Able to build trust & strong relationships at all levels, influences without formal authority.
  • Expert-level in all stages of the end-to-end product design process, including discovery, research, conceptualization, information architecture, prototyping, interaction design, micro-interactions and design QA with engineering.
  • Proven understanding of several current design tools (Figma, Principle, Sketch etc.), with expertise in at least one, and an eagerness to learn new ones.
  • Prototyping experience, with tools such as Principle, Flinto, InVision, etc.
  • Experience with micro-interaction animations.
  • Experience conducting exploratory user research and usability testing.
  • Experience working from quantitative and qualitative data, and refining work based on findings.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience designing social media or dating apps.
  • Basic front-end development skills: enough to conceptualize (and empathize with) the constraints that mobile engineers work within.
  • A future-forward perspective, informed by a curiosity about technology and culture.
  • A broad interest in design history (product, graphic, industrial, architectural).
