Tinder is looking for an outstanding Data Science Manager to join our team. Our team focuses on uncovering critical insights that grow our business. As a Data Scientist at Tinder, you are on the front line of building better products and experiences for our customers.

We are a crucial part of Tinder's cross-functional product development teams, helping to drive every stage of product development through analytic, statistical, and algorithmic expertise. As the Data Science Manager, you will also be an authority on the Analytics team, leading data scientists, providing thought leadership, and pushing the team to improve their knowledge and toolset.

What You'll Do:

  • Manager and develop a team of 3 highly skilled analysts; support the deliver high-quality and timely projects.
  • Be an authority with a point of view for the organization and the team, using data to constantly challenge and reshape our understanding of customer behavior and business performance.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to lead project intake, roadmap, prioritize, and lead to staff against key initiatives.
  • Develop data-driven business insights and work with the team and cross-functional partners to find opportunities, drive product strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Drive understanding of our users and their interaction with our products through in-depth analyses of user interaction and engagement.
  • Define how our teams measure success by developing Key Performance Indicators and other users/business metrics in close partnership with Product Management and other subject areas such as engineering and design.
  • Find the "story" in the data and share insights across the organization.
  • Partner with our Talent Acquisition team to recruiter, hire, and mentor world-class talent.

You Have:

  • Sophisticated SQL expertise.
  • Sophisticated experience with experimental design and statistical methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with extracting insights from data, and summarizing findings/takeaways.
  • Demonstrated experience understanding, prioritizing, and executing business goals and strategies.
  • Experience building intuitive and impactful dashboards and data visualizations that drive business decisions (e.g., with Tableau, Mode, Amplitude, or similar).
  • Ability to deliver on timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to implement decisions while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Python or R.M.S. or Bachelor's degree in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields is helpful.
