As a Principal User Experience Designer, you will report to the Chief Product Officer and drive the creative and strategic direction of our Product Experience. This position provides an incredible opportunity for impact to the experience of the millions of members using Plenty of Fish daily. This opportunity will require you to define the vision, principles, and experience design standards for the entire customer journey of a POF member on and off the app.

Please Note: You will have a choice of being Remote-First OR Office-First.

Remote First: You will have the option to work remotely from the Lower Mainland area, but we will require attendance at our downtown Vancouver office for quarterly planning, important meetings, team get togethers or whenever you want to "crew together" IRL!

Office-First: You will get to work from our downtown Vancouver office 2-3 days a week, and work remotely the remainder of the week!

So, what will you do?

• Working closely with our CPO and Director of Product Management to lead and define the holistic UX strategy for the entire POF product experience - ensuring a user centric approach that embodies and exemplifies our unique brand positioning in the dating category
• Guide and collaborate with embedded Product Designers to execute our UX strategy across multiple teams in parallel
• Coach and mentor Product Designers on UX design, usability design, and user research best practices
• Lead and conduct user research when needed and provide support to Product Designers on how to run successful user research initiatives
• Be the internal champion, evangelist, and expert for design thinking at POF

You'll be a match for this role if you have..

• 4+ years of experience working with social apps and products
• Examples of solving challenging user problems through UX/UI design and gaining commitment from teams across the company
• An exceptional storyteller that is able to clearly articulate our member's challenges with online dating and how and why we should design experiences to address these challenges
• Mastery of design and prototyping tools (e.g. Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud)
• Strong analytic abilities with a proven track record conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform their design decisions
