Product Designer at Tinder | Powderkeg

Location: Paris, France

Employment Type: Regular

Team: Product

Hawaya’s mission is to help Muslim singles seeking a modern way to meet their true life partner. We’re committed to spark meaningful connections based on mutual respect between men and women who want to start a love journey which can blossom into a genuine relationship.

Hawaya was born in 2017 of a simple idea: that today’s Muslims are comfortable using the digital world to solve their problems, but the world of Muslim love and marriage is still very old-fashioned. Modern progressive Muslim women want to be able to find a life partner for themselves, but the typical online dating journey was not compatible with their values.

Since 2019, Hawaya is part of the Match Group, the global leader in dating and matchmaking services, and benefits from the group's technological and marketing expertise of other brands like Tinder, Meetic or Hinge.

We are always on the lookout for talented people to join and have a positive and lifelong impact on people’s lives but today we are specifically looking for a Product Designer.

This is a highly collaborative, central and impactful role where you will be working with different experts to lead Hawaya’s success in becoming a global leader of transforming the way Muslims find their soulmate.

What you will be doing:

  • You will lead the design across the entire product lifecycle. You’ll partner with product managers to identify which user problems are most important to solve and work with engineers and other stakeholders to deliver end to end UI/UX solutions
  • Design wireframes, flowcharts, visual mock-ups, and prototypes to build new features and product iterations based on feedback from team members and users…
  • Use insights about user needs, motivations, and behaviors to create human-centered solutions that translate into impactful results
  • Work autonomously and have ownership over your work. You will be responsible for the quality of design deliverables
  • Lead product discovery by using qualitative and quantitative user research methodologies to validate concepts with end-users and stakeholders, and turn insights into value-adding features and actionable deliverables
  • Collaborate with the product & tech team, ensuring visual cohesion and engineering efficiency across all user touch points
  • Facilitate and animate meetings to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts when needed

Skills that will help you succeed:

  • 5+ years overall professional design experience and 2+ years mobile design experience with proven results
  • Proficiency with at least a couple modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Framer, …)
  • Knowledge of mobile standards, accessibility and UX best practices
  • Experience with user research solutions such as usertesting.com
  • Self-starter attitude with excitement to work in a fast paced, low ego environment
  • A desire to design solutions that fundamentally change behavior and solve problems, as opposed to features that are cool or flashy
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
