The Role

**Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Remote (US-based) **

Come be the third lawyer on our small but mighty legal team! You’ll serve as primary legal advisor to various teams, supporting them on new products, services, and programs, from inception to launch. You’ll provide legal advice across a range of subjects, advising and partnering with internal teams, particularly our content and customer support teams to start, as well as leading efficiency projects. You’ll help build, develop and manage operational processes, playbooks and various internal trainings (e.g. privacy and intellectual property), while leading highly visible projects impacting the entire organization and serving our 75 million listeners worldwide.

What You’ll Do:

• Independently structure, draft and negotiate a wide range of complex agreements, including technology, content licensing, marketing, and various vendor agreements
• Work cross-functionally to identify risks and provide strategic, solutions-oriented and creative legal and business advice (e.g. product counseling), most specifically to TuneIn’s Support and Content organizations
• Navigate complex regulatory, compliance, and operational matters; conduct related research and provide practical, decisive legal guidance
• Assist with managing data privacy processes and protocols as a key member of TuneIn’s cross-functional privacy team
• Develop, improve and maintain contract templates, standard forms, corporate policies and processes, and training programs
• Work with other team members to develop, manage, and improve legal processes and organization, including contract management, evaluation and implementation of legal tools, and intradepartmental workflows
• Manage outside legal counsel
• Manage ad hoc projects and responsibilities as needed

What We Are Looking For:

• Substantial experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts, including various complex technology, commercial and licensing agreements
• Ability to synthesize legal issues in a compelling fashion for a business audience and draft written guidance in a digestible and precise manner
• Strong working knowledge of legal issues relating to technical integrations, media, marketing, advertising, privacy and digital products
• Confident, effective negotiator who can lead the process, focus on important issues and efficiently bring deals to a favorable close
• Exceptional attention to detail, organized, efficient and resourceful
• Outstanding analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Works well independently, with others, and under instruction
• Inquisitive and proactive, always thinking of ways to improve legal and business processes, not opposed to owning processes end-to-end
• Growth mindset conducive to tackling challenges outside of your immediate area of responsibility with a desire to learn and grow, solving big (and small) problems
• Strong desire to learn TuneIn’s business and function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team, with an eye towards aligning decisions with the bigger picture goals (e.g. OKR and quarterly department and company-wide goals)
• Experience in Ad Tech and/or Privacy preferred (but not required)

Requirements:

• 6+ years of relevant experience working in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department (ideal candidates will have a combination of both)
• JD required. Bar admission and in good standing in at least one state (California preferred)
• Have an EQ that matches your IQ - a team player who values humility and flexibility
