We are seeking a Senior Staff Composites Structural Analyst to join our team developing our next generation electric-powered aircraft. You will work closely with other team members, including design, manufacturing, and test engineers, to develop and validate designs for the airframe and other composite components. Your responsibilities will consist of: performing analyses and supporting testing to demonstrate the structural integrity and performance of the designs; developing and documenting structural analysis methods and procedures related to composites; and supervising the activities of other composites structural analysts.
Specific tasks you will perform include: using closed form and other analytical solutions to support conceptual and preliminary design activities; building, running, and post-processing finite element models of various levels of fidelity to simulate the response of designs to static, cyclic, and transient dynamic loads; using FEA and other methods to calculate loads and margins of safety; supporting structural tests at various scales by defining test plans, monitoring tests, and evaluating test data; and providing suggested design modifications to the design teams to improve the designs.
