We are looking for a supervisor for the battery assembly shop team to join the production operation of our Wisk generation 6 vehicle and Cora Go To Market vehicle. You will apply principles from high-volume manufacturing to ramp up production and ensure that quality, production schedules, and engineering requirements are met within released specifications and delivered on time per the production schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop, and motivate employees who assemble battery packs for manufacturing and engineering, as well as service field units
• Conduct HR/Admin tasks: approve time cards/Personal Time Off, annual employee reviews, approve & initiate purchase orders, etc.
• Acquires resources to execute production plan (e.g. staffing)
• Ensures team members are appropriately trained
• Lead process improvements
• Collaborate on quality improvements
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, peers, and direct reports
• Maintain shop metrics
• Ensure all processes are being performed safely within the guidelines of released specifications and technical documentation

Requirements

• 5+ years managing small teams in a manufacturing environment
• Manufacturing of high voltage battery packs
• Able to support a production schedule of 6:00 AM- 3:00 PM
• A strong understanding of high voltage test setups & equipment
• Basic knowledge of Lithium-ion batteries and BMS software
• Understanding of production metrics, field data, and relations to quality and reliability data
• Hands-on skills with electromechanical systems, tools, instruments, and measurement techniques
• Experience in wire harness development and PCB soldering
• Knowledge of safety standards/guidelines pertinent to high voltage assemblies and experience implementing them
• Experience in lean manufacturing principles
• Understanding of and experience with basic manufacturing quality principles
• Familiarity with tool control and calibration schedules
• Familiarity with failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with managing electronic work instructions from manufacturing execution software
• Experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading/interpreting drawings, and fulfilling engineering specifications
• Trained in IPC 610A & IPC 620A standards
• Open to international and domestic travel to suppliers (less than 20%)
