We are currently seeking a senior software engineer with user interface experience to join us in developing exciting and revolutionary passenger hospitality systems for a new class of all electric aircraft. You will draw on your full life cycle software development experience to be part of a technical team specifying, designing, and implementing the passenger experience system for a new certified commercial aircraft

The Role

• The designer is a member of an integrated product team and is responsible for designing the human interface aspects of the following capabilities:
• A mobile app (primarily a prototype for discussion with partners, includes booking, flight status, aiding passengers with interfacing to onboard amenities, etc.),
• The portion of the passenger hospitality system that will allow hospitality crew to get relevant passenger information by flight, pass information as needed to other ground systems.
• The communications interface with the aircraft intercom system that allows the hospitality crew to talk to passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the human interfaces to our inflight hospitality services
• Develop APIs to be used in interfacing the inflight hospitality software systems with the other FOC and communications systems.
• Work with systems engineering to define requirements and behaviors for the inflight hospitality software system
• Work with product design to develop inflight hospitality crew user experience and user interfaces
• Develop the processes and select tool chains that the passenger services team will use to develop software systems

Requirements:

• BS in CS, AE, ME, EE, or equivalent, minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Mobile App development experience
• Experience in front-end development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, REST, RPC, Websockets, SVG, or Canvas)
• Experience with one or more backend environments (Node.js, Django, or similar) and frameworks (Expressjs or similar)
• Experience building and scaling APIs (OpenApi or similar)
• Experience with automation tools (Webpack or similar) and unit testing (Jest or similar)
• Customer focused and passionate about usability
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database systems (Mongodb, BigQuery or similar)

Desired:

• Keen interest in aviation or prior aerospace development experience
• Experience in a hybrid data infrastructure environment (on premise + cloud)
• Demonstrated experience releasing and maintaining customer-facing applications
• Passionate about automation and development efficiency
