The User Researcher will report to the VP Design & Insights.
This researcher will be joining the small-but-mighty group of mixed-methods researchers who make up Omada’s Product Insights team. Our researchers are embedded in work across the organization, defining “what good research” is in a complex and growing company while also getting it done. While we have autonomy and independence, we collaborate very closely with our partners in design, product, data science, clinical, coaching, and beyond.
This role will expand our impact in two crucial ways:
1. Leading user research in key domains across our product portfolio - you will be the embedded researcher for a set of key domains and projects.
2. Bringing to life our research skill-sharing effort - there is a huge appetite across product and other disciplines to get closer to our users for downstream usability/concept testing. As dedicated researchers focus our own work on more upstream strategic discovery, it is crucial that we empower and coach our partners to test concepts, refine directions, etc.
Amongst the things you’ll do: **
Recommend, plan, execute, and share-out high quality research and actionable insights, at the intersection of human needs, business goals, and healthcare/technical realities.
Teach the craft of research by bringing non-research team members into the process and mentoring junior team members
Join forces with a diverse group of experts, working together to crack the nut of behavior change
Adapt best practices and principles in research to a fast-paced, agile environment - looking for opportunities to advance “how we research” through your own work, and partnering with your research team to improve our processes/workflows
Meet regularly with key members of the teams you work with to identify research opportunities and challenges
Determine the most efficient approach(es) to various projects — from low-n qual to high-n quant — and create processes and timelines that keep the research-aspects of those projects on track
Inform every stage of the product design process through upfront generative research, early concept testing, concept refinement, usability, and post-launch feedback
Develop strong research questions and establish/manage ongoing research loops to assess change over time
Craft compelling presentations that socialize research findings within the company, and help us all stay in touch with the people whose lives we hope to impact on a daily basis — #membersfirst
Partner with your fellow researcher to bring your product/project-specific learning back to the “core research knowledge bank” of what we know about our users, and people more broadly
