We’re currently hiring a Global Release Manager to join the Product Program and Operations team as a remote employee. Reporting to the Director of Product Programs and Operations, you’ll be responsible for coordinating activities across Engineering, Product Management and DevOps to support release readiness across our entire product portfolio. The Manager will be responsible for assisting in release planning activities, confirming completion and readiness to proceed with deployment. Your goal will be to build out best practice deployment processes and branching strategies that move the team towards continuous integration. You will assist in delivering smooth and consistent deployment processes.

The Manager will partner with Initiative Leads, Product Marketing Teams and Customer Success to plan and execute software releases. Manager will coordinate cross-platform go-to-market plans and communications to support internal and external awareness for our clients and user community.

What you’ll do:

You will take ownership of the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and managing releases across the enterprise. You will also:

  • Coordinate activities and communication across internal groups including Marketing, Client Services and Support
  • Communicate with external and internal teams about the release schedules
  • Communicate release status, activity progress and issues encountered throughout the duration of release activities
  • Coordinate completion of required release collateral and enablement preparation including educational materials, documentation updates, webinars, etc.
  • Maintain the release schedule and ensure alignment across affected teams as well as outside 3rd party sub-processors
  • Coordinate release kick-off, midpoint and retrospectives to promote awareness and drive improvements across the design, product and engineering team
  • Perform a release management assessment, identify process improvement opportunities and ensure implementation and adherence to the release management strategy
  • Record and manage deviations, risks, and issues during the release process and take necessary corrective action
  • Develop and present executive-level reports, presentations, and analyses of initiatives and programs, including roadmap and release execution
  • Contribute to forward-looking business and product operations strategy

Who you are:

  • Has the ability to manage critical situations across teams to ensure the overall success of the release with the flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs
  • Has the ability to consider upstream and downstream scheduling and process impacts and implications
  • Ensures the use of best practices and applies lessons learned from previous releases
  • Will closely align in a matrixed fashion with peer organizations to ensure effective and efficient execution of releases
  • Has the ability to operate in a fast-paced release management organization and work independently with global virtual teams with little supervision.
  • Proven organizational, presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical staff and for all levels of management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Agile/Scrum Master credential or Project Management Professional (PMP) credential preferred
  • At least 10 years software/SaaS experience with 5 in program management
  • Strong knowledge of software development business processes and practices
  • Deep experience with roadmap/portfolio planning, including in agile development environments
  • Experience with security, risk management, and/or compliance preferred
  • Experience with project management and software development tools
