Desktop Support/IT Engineer at PagerDuty | Powderkeg

We are interviewing and onboarding 100% virtually at this time. PagerDuty is focused on inclusion and employee well-being by building a culture that isn’t location specific and gives equal opportunity to everyone—regardless of where you are working. Unless your job requirements make it necessary to be in a company office, you may choose to work in-office, remotely, or hybrid .

You've helped countless people solve problems. Around the office, you are known as the 'Fixer' because you somehow know how to address every issue that has ever been presented to you. You are able to track common issues and then get to the root cause of the problem, saving yourself – and your fellow employees – valuable time. You know how to lay out IT infrastructure such that it is there when people need it and it does not break. You know OS X like the back of your hand and can communicate that knowledge clearly and helpfully. You know how to make Windows behave. You are familiar with the tools and software used to manage desktop machines for any environment. You can write clear and concise documentation. You have helped maintain a corporate network. You are ready to bring those skills to PagerDuty, then hone and extend them.

We are looking for an experienced Desktop Support Analyst that can help with the following:

  • Proactively address issues by building out processes and automation
  • Buying and provisioning equipment for the office
  • Maintaining and improving office communications infrastructure like video conferencing, internet connections, and office networking
  • Configuring, maintaining, and running productivity and other SaaS based tools
  • Making sure that everyone has the access they need to their email, calendar, and other tools
  • Coordinate with other HelpDesk staff to implement company standards and policies around technology

What you know

  • 5+ years of desktop support / systems administration
  • Comfortable with troubleshooting both OS X (We are primarily a Mac shop) and Windows
  • Familiar with Google Apps, Okta, and other SaaS based productivity tools
  • Familiar with employee on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Experienced with configuring AV setups
  • Knowledge of Mac hardware
  • Strong customer focus
  • Familiar with enterprise network equipment

Bonus points if you have:

  • Linux experience
