Profile: Staff Program Manager


PagerDuty is looking for an experienced Staff Program Manager to manage M&A integrations and other major enterprise programs spanning key strategic and operational initiatives for the company. This role is in the PagerDuty’s Enterprise PMO organization which primarily focuses on supporting the execution of the company strategy and key strategic & operational cross- functional initiatives.

This role will require strong critical thinking and project/program management skills, with a focus on following a structured approach for program management activities. Additionally, this individual will be a key liaison for cross-functional business units and departments (e.g., sales, marketing, product/engineering, finance, IT, customer success, HR) and will be tasked with developing effective working teams capable of solving complex business goals with successful outcomes.

This role will directly interact with executive sponsors and diverse, cross functional teams to drive agendas, help identify and solve key issues, guide workstream owners, track progress, develop executive readouts, and successfully implement changes that improve and optimize the overall results and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex cross-functional programs including M&A integrations and other major enterprise programs, including key strategic and operational initiatives for the company
  • Strategic thought partner for building out repeatable frameworks and improving operational processes
  • Evaluate risks and prepare recommendations to senior leadership for optimal execution
  • Responsible for implementing acquisition integration projects, when necessary, including: identifying what is needed for success, assessment of required milestones, cross-functional execution, and innovative solution development
  • Manage communications across all the project organizations around status, timeline and milestones
  • Develop project plans, resource plans, training and test plans, and cutover plans, applying appropriate project methodology
  • Manage project/program scope, budget, risks and timelines
  • Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Interact with C-Suite, VPs, directors and business leads in groups, 1:1 and through email
  • Identify critical path and interdependencies that could pose risks to the programs and projects
  • Works well under pressure, be sensitive to deadlines, can interact in a team environment, can adapt quickly to change, deep attention to details and possess excellent customer service skills

  • Must be a self-starter and highly motivated business oriented independent, critical thinker
  • Determination to build successful business partnerships and work collaboratively across functions
  • Ability to form own point of view and communicate risks and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in any one of the project management tools such as MS Project, SmartSheets, JIRA is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. including the ability to successfully communicate both internally and externally, and within all levels of the organization

Education Requirements

BS/BA or equivalent; MBA preferred

PMP/Agile certifications preferred

Experience

  • 8+ Years of experience or 5+ Years of experience with an MBA managing Strategic projects with focus on M&A integration and Business Operations working in SaaS/Software companies or acting as a consultant serving SaaS/Software companies
  • Prior M&A integration experience in technology industry is a must
  • Experience working in Strategic & Operational Consulting firms and implementing projects for SaaS/Software clients is valuable
  • Extensive program and project management skills with experience managing complex, multi-functional, global programs
  • Experience with working in virtual teams across geographical location and time zones
  • Experience in project/program management, including project design, proposal evaluation, project reporting, and financial management
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Operations Business Analyst is a plus
