Paperless Post is seeking an expert graphics developer with experience in JavaScript to help architect and maintain our suite of applications. In this role, you’ll work within a dedicated and fully staffed feature team to build and maintain user-facing features and libraries that are essential for cross- functional development teams. You’ll use your experience in graphics to create performant large-scale web applications with great usability that work across devices and environments.

A little bit about the team

The PP Engineering team, a highly collaborative group of developers and technologists, is charged with building and refining a consumer-facing product that millions of people interact with each month. Our individual feature teams each focus on a unique piece of the user experience and are made up of engineers, product managers, QA, and product designers. We prioritize creativity and continuing education, and our ongoing commitment to quality code shows in our pragmatic but brave approach to technology.

You will:

• Build new features and help them through from concept to deployment.
• Develop web applications with JavaScript and other languages.
• Work with a team of peers to build upon the company’s web applications.
• Assist in completing sprint goals and completion of company key objectives.
• Document and educate the other members of the team about work that you do.
• Write unit and acceptance tests for the work that you do.

You have:

• Excellent knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Excellent knowledge of web graphics in 2D Canvas and/or WebGL.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript modules and build systems (CommonJS, Webpack).
• Experience with React, React Native, and Next.js.
• Experience with consuming APIs and working with web servers.
• Appreciation of good design and UX.
• Exposure to Node.js, C, C++, Ruby on Rails, and Go are helpful.
• Exposure to lower level graphics constructs like OpenGL are helpful.
• Experience with using AWS or related services is a plus.
