Our user base has doubled in the last year alone, and we have paid over $2 billion directly to creators on our platform. In order to support this level of growth, Patreon is looking for a Sr. Director Employee Experience to join our People & Communities team.

In this role, you will play a lead role in the overall direction of organizational culture curation and transformation through the creation of an exceptional employee experience which touches all points of the employee lifecycle ensuring a work environment in which all employees can thrive.

The Sr. Director, Employee Experience oversees a team that both fosters and delivers upon our employee experience through a holistic, enterprise-level strategy and vision. This individual guides the execution of communications, learning and development, and workplace management. Additionally,, they will oversee along with world class community programming, recognition, activities and events that connect employees to one another, to our employer brand and purpose, and that push us towards our mission to fund the creative class.

In this role, you will be a strategic thought leader and partner at all employee touchpoints to drive employee engagement and retention. This position will work closely with Patreon’s senior leadership team, with an overall responsibility to keep a pulse on team member needs and maintain a strong corporate culture across our hybrid work environment, engaging both in-office and remote team members. Your role will be critical to ensuring employees view Patreon as a best place to work, and will keep our culture top of mind when developing a best-in-class employee experience through forward-looking and innovative initiatives.

OVERVIEW

  • Creates and leads the end-to-end execution of our employee experience and culture strategy that positively reflects the changing nature of work (e.g., agile teams, news ways of working), the changing locations of our employees (WFH, deskless, hybrid), evolving employee needs/wants (customization of content, varied delivery) to better support business outcomes and teammate experience.

  • Sets and directs the holistic strategy of brand-aligned employee communications, learning, campaigns, workplace, special experiences and events to enhance our culture and deepen employee connection

  • Ensures continued innovation, inclusivity, and creativity so that our offerings remain fresh and compelling, and accessible, to all employees. Scope includes but is not limited to company meetings, ERG events, creator series, office and real estate design, as well as envisioning and establishing new experiences and traditions for our employees.

  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of engagement and culture programming; recommends enhancements or changes as needed. Ensures that necessary program reports and metrics are available to relevant stakeholders upon request and/or through monthly/quarterly reviews. Developing and implementing KPIs to measure the effectiveness of holistic efforts to achieve maximum impact.

  • Assesses and prioritizes learning needs across the organization aligned with the talent management strategy. Develops a suite of world-class, values based learning and development opportunities, and determines best methods for scaled accessibility, to ensure the growth of our internal talent.

  • Facilitate adoption of flexible work design and workplace experiences, creating meaningful, purposeful connections, encouraging productivity and collaboration among dispersed employee groups. Design methods for planned and spontaneous connections.

Skills and experience you possess:

  • 10+ years of HR or people operations experience, preferably at a high-growth company

  • Building and delivering a progressive vision of employee experience that reflects the future of work and distributed teams. Orientation and curiosity around the role of purpose for the workforce of today and tomorrow.
  • Must be a high level strategic thinker/ with the ability to see the "big picture" and an understanding of business, key drivers and success factors. This individual must be able to evaluate the needs of an organization and create, implement and lead development programs that develop needed capabilities.
  • Understanding cultural nuances with proven success leading in diverse, global organizations. Must have a good understanding of human behavior, as well as business management, operations and strategy.

CRAFT

  • Demonstrated capability with driving high impact communications projects (both one-offs and campaigns), experiences and events.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and can work seamlessly across teams and organization levels with ease, communicating complex topics in a clear fashion.
  • Specialized expertise with building world-class, progressive executive development, learning and development programs
  • Interest in defining a cutting edge portfolio of capabilities and programs that can transform how an organization does business. Cultivating a mindset of experimentation, agility and smart risk taking across the team to drive innovation and creativity. Open-minded, creative, and imaginative.

EXECUTION

  • Capable of managing competing priorities, executing against deadlines and driving strategic aligned with corporate goals and objectives. This person must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with quickly evolving deadlines. Results-driven, organized and detail-oriented. Experience with building out culture-centered programs for a fast-moving organization.
  • Effectively balances strategic orientation with a bias for action and results.

  • Demonstrated success influencing and building trusting relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives to align efforts and improve employee experiences, reduce silos and deliver high impact results. Leads with a proactive style and strategic business sense that will allow him/her to develop credibility with the leadership of the organization
  • Exceptional team leader with demonstrated experience coaching and developing a high-functioning team to focus on the most important and meaningful projects, and leverage individual strengths, promote flexibility, grow and expand skills, and help each team member build meaningful relationships across the business
