Summary:

As a team member of our small and growing biotech company, you’ll be integral to our shared mission of enabling precision medicine for cancer treatment. In support of our Clinical Lab Ops, your primary responsibilities will be performing DNA & RNA extractions, related QC, data analysis and other tasks in support of the next generation sequencing services.

Available Shift: Tues-Sat 1 PM-9:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process laboratory samples following standard procedures with great attention to detail.
• Perform nucleic acid extraction and purification manually and/or on automated platforms from different sample types.
• Quality control of incoming material and extracted DNA and RNA.
• Provide timely reports of data, analysis, and status updates.
• Sample management and data transfer to other Operations teams.
• Escalates issues to a supervisor when problems arise with sample processing.
• Maintain appropriate supplies and equipment to maximize department efficiency and meet established budgetary and quality goals.
• Follows GLP (good laboratory practice) in the use and handling of laboratory materials and equipment to maintain a compliant, safe, clean, and orderly working environment
• Support and ensure compliance with the laboratory’s quality control procedures and policies.
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of laboratory safety protocols.
• Demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• Use effective two-way communication and participate in general laboratory meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in a biological discipline with 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Basic knowledge of nucleic acid handling techniques (e.g. pipetting, PCR)
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative processes (e.g. Tapestation, Qubit, Lunatic) nice to have
• Possessing excellent communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptive
• Ability to analyze and solve basic problems.
• Enjoys working as part of a team within a highly collaborative environment.
• Open to working our 4 shifts (Tues-Sat, Sun-Thurs, 6 am-2:30 PM and 1-9:30 PM)
• Knowledge of genomics is preferred.
