Summary:

As a team member of our small and growing biotech company, you’ll be integral to our shared mission of enabling precision medicine for cancer treatment. In support of our Clinical Lab Ops, your primary responsibilities will be performing next generation sequencing, related QC, data analysis and other tasks in support of the next generation sequencing services.

Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibilities will be performing and assisting in laboratory tests, processes and analyses according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures
• Perform hybrid capture preps on NGS libraries; quality control by various quantitative methods; sample management and data transfer to sequencing team
• Operate next generation sequencing equipment; determine sequencing loading schemes to generate required data deliverable; track sequencing runs and manage data results for customer samples
• Perform troubleshooting, solve problems and escalate issues to a supervisor when problems arise with sample processing
• Supports a safety and quality culture through compliance with the laboratory’s quality control procedures and policies as well as lab safety protocols
• Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications, provide input for continuous improvement initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS in a biological discipline
• 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience including hands-on experience with common molecular biology techniques and principles such as nucleic acid hybridization assays, PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, enzymatic manipulation of DNA/RNA, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Quality control of samples and quantification devices (e.g., TapeStation, Qubit, qPCR) nice to have
• Familiarity with Hamilton or other robotic liquid handlers nice to have
• Able to clearly and timely communicate problems, protocols, and results both in writing and verbally - and ability to keep complete and detailed records
• Thrives in a high-energy, hands-on & collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Genomics
• Familiarity with LIMS or sample management tracking systems
