About the Team:

The Business Development team is responsible for developing technology partnerships and programs that extend the reach of Planet’s products and new markets (new geographies, verticals and use cases). The global BD team works cross-functionally, collaborating very closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, Legal, Finance and other teams to develop and operationalize new partnerships and markets. Business Development is focused on key initiatives that will accelerate Planet’s growth and market position by creating new avenues to expand our customer and user communities.

About the Role:

As a Business Development Associate you will report to the VP of Business Development and work with BD Directors on a variety of high-profile and high- impact projects. Your projects and responsibilities will include elements of strategy, sales, project management and execution like:

  • Conducting due diligence and research on new partnerships or markets
  • Supporting development and launch of new technology partnerships
  • Researching new use cases and applications of Planet and partner solutions
  • Managing project timelines and working cross-functionally to meet deadlines and operationalize new initiatives
  • Working closely with Directors on annual partner planning & quarterly partner business reviews
  • Preparing for and attending external meetings with new customers and partners
  • Attending conferences and regional events key for building new business

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Building key relationships that increase impact of Planet’s technology
  • Developing programs that enable Planet’s growth into new user communities

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong project and time management skills with an attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and business judgment
  • A blend of high energy, flexibility and team orientation with a direct, honest, and respectful approach to problem solving, and an ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a high-growth, start-up culture
  • Outstanding executive communication (speaking and writing), interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • The candidate demonstrates the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, convey compelling data-driven decisions, and work collaboratively to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must, as is the ability to leverage and motivate Planet’s global organization to achieve results.
