Project Manager at Poppin | Powderkeg

At Poppin, we believe that everyone, everywhere deserves to “work happy.”

We provide companies the foundation for creating inspirational workspaces through a unique offering of furniture, office supplies, and branded merchandise. We’ve put a modern spin on a 100 year-old industry that’s been slow to adapt to today’s modern consumer. By simplifying the process, providing transparent pricing and discounts, and making our products available “on demand,” Poppin is able to offer a service unlike any other in the marketplace.

Poppin is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in San Francisco! Poppin Project Managers (PMs) sit at the intersection of sales and logistics and own the execution of our nationwide furniture installations. As a PM you will aide in closing deals, provide product expertise and oversee all aspects of the project implementation process. Additionally, you will work directly with Poppin clients and installers to regularly communicate the status of their projects and ensure an amazing customer experience. Within Poppin, PMs work in harmony with Operations, Sales, Product Design and Customer Support to create seamless service and deployment of Poppin products.

Successful Project Managers are driven by their ability to organize and successfully implement 40+ concurrent projects while providing detailed communication both internally and externally.

  • Partner with the Sales team to understand the client’s environment and assist in closing sales.
  • Once a project is won, serve as the single point of contact for the client.
  • Swiftly procure and negotiate installation quotes from Poppin’s network of installation partners.
  • Oversee all aspects of furniture installation and facilitate client communications.

  • Ensure orders are accurate, products are delivered on time and installations are expertly managed.
  • Accommodate client’s change requests and date/timing shifts.
  • Collaborate with our operations team on any inventory, order management, warehousing, staging and delivery needs.
  • Train, mentor and develop new Project Coordinators to provide excellent client/project support and ensure timelines are met.
  • Proactively communicate with the Sales team to facilitate the appropriate next steps throughout the sales process.
  • Utilize active listening skills to identify key needs of the client and potential complications/issues that may arise and provide solutions.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a project management or comparable role.
  • Demonstrated a track record of success managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel is required.
  • Proven ability to use digital systems of record, logistics tools, PM software and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).

Successful Poppin team members step up to the plate and work to get smarter every single day. Our startup ethos requires an all-hands-on-deck attitude (or, as we call it, “work scrappy”), taking on any and all changes with excitement and a great attitude.

We believe that working happy starts with embracing differences and that self- expression shouldn’t end at the office. To that end, every Poppin employee is encouraged to be themselves and create fun every day. While we align our company goals on the changing needs of our employees, business, and larger communities, we remain consistently committed to creating an environment rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion for all Poppin employees, partners, and customers.
