The Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Special Programs Division develops, tests, and rapidly fields classified Air Force aeronautical capabilities. AFLCMC/WAG conducts studies to identify new capabilities; transitions laboratory technologies to operational platforms; executes demonstrations; and develops, tests, and rapidly fields new capabilities for the warfighter. You will be providing bold and innovative program management solutions on one or more programs by working with labs, test organizations, operational users, prime contractors, and subcontractors.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide program management support to classified programs utilizing DoD acquisition processes and policies for the procurement of systems, subsystems, and life cycle acquisition management.
  • Assist in initiating new prototype and development programs.
  • Employ acquisition program analysis in the areas of acquisition and contracting strategy, program planning and control, schedule development, test, configuration management, risk management, contract changes, financial management, production and product support.
  • Assist in the planning, development, editing, and staffing of acquisition document products (e.g., program documentation, plans, reports, briefings, etc).
  • Develop and present briefings on program status, findings, and/or recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
  • Assist in annual program cost estimates and Program Objective Memorandum development and submission.
  • Interface with weapons system contractors, vendors, and Government representatives regarding programmatic aspects.
  • Support program technical interchange meetings, program management reviews, executive management reviews, test meetings, development/operational test events, integrated product team meetings, software/hardware design reviews, etc.
  • Perform program risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Apply earned value management system (EVMS) for cost and schedule to existing contracts.
  • Review and give feedback to contract deliverable products

To be successful in this role, you will have a:

  • SECRET security clearance with background investigation current within the past 6 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 15 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • In depth knowledge of DoD acquisition program management

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • TOP SECRET security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility and background investigation current within the past 6 years.
  • 12 months or more of SAP experience within the past 5 years.
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II or III certification in Program Management.
  • 10 years of DoD Acquisition Program Office experience
  • DoD Acquisition strategy and process development, and lifecycle management.
  • Developing, editing, and publication of program documents
  • In-depth experience with other acquisition disciplines
