About the Role:

SAP Historical Data Migration Consultant

Fission Consulting is currently in search of an SAP Historical Data Migration Consultant to join our growing technology organization. In this role, the SAP Historical Data Migration Consultant will be responsible for the migration of historical SAP Data to a cloud-based database for archival purposes. The SAP Historical Data Migration Consultant will work with clients currently operating on SAP ERP systems and will be responsible for requirements gathering, data extraction, tool selection, resource provisioning, and the migration of the extracted historical data to a selected database for archiving. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SAP ERP data, writing queries in SAP, and significant SQL and database experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with requirements gathering and product selection efforts.
• Assist with the setup of data extraction tools on client systems.
• Participate in design sessions as needed to capture key project requirements and develop strategy of implementation.
• Analyze provided client documentation and data in support of solution design.
• Create client-specific SAP data extraction workflows based on project requirements.
• Write custom queries and use pre-developed data extraction tools to enhance SAP data extraction workflows.
• Execute scheduled SAP data extraction according to a defined project plan.
• Migrate extracted SAP data to chosen historical data warehouse according to project schedule.
• Develop Custom Views or Migrate Canned Queries based on client requirements.
• Manage and communicate work responsibilities to client resources and third-party contractors.
• Collaborate with the software development team to capture current and future requirements to incorporate into Fission software.

Qualifications:

• Significant experience writing SAP queries.
• Knowledge of SAP ERP data schema.
• Familiarity with ETL Tools (SSIS, Informatica, Talend etc.)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (data lakes, and databases offered by Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
• Experience developing database-level extraction workflows as part of a larger ETL or data archiving processes.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously if required.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
