About the Role

G2 is looking for a savvy and smart wordsmith to join our content marketing team. The Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for writing long- form content on the Learning Hub and, providing in-depth reviews to their peers, and optimizing their content based on a target keyword. This person will have a strong writing background, preferably in tech, IT, or SaaS, as well as the ability to continuously hit deadlines, and a passion for how content can achieve business goals. This role will report to a Content Marketing Manager.

In this role, you will:

  • Based on any given keyword, conduct thorough research and competitive analysis on a topic. Understand how to produce high-quality, competitive content.
  • Efficiently write and publish 4-6 articles a month, each article averaging about 2,000-3,000 words in length, on a variety of technical topics. Independently manage your writing process from start to finish.
  • Optimize content for search engines and lead generation purposes; stay up-to-date on SEO and on-page optimization best practices.
  • Create visual elements for each article using templates in Canva.
  • Provide in-depth peer reviews for your colleagues’ content, including competitive analysis and design check.
  • Regularly promote your content on a variety of social media platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A passion for and a strong understanding of the industry and our business’ mission.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of the Learning Hub.
  • Expert grasp on AP style editorial standards and American English.
  • Excellent organizational skills to work independently and manage projects with many moving parts.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • 1-3 years of content marketing and content creation experience.

Preferred experience:

  • 5 writing samples from a reputable publication, ideally in the SaaS, IT, marketing, or tech spaces.
  • Demonstrated background in writing for SEO.
  • Basic graphic design knowledge.
  • Understanding of content management systems, HubSpot preferred.
  • Experience using SEO research tools, such as SEMrush and Ahrefs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, or similar.
