THE CHALLENGE

There are exciting things going on behind the scenes at Eventbrite. Our product portfolio is growing and we are rapidly expanding the number of product features to serve our broader scope of event creators. Given our growth, our business has become more complex and dynamic and we require excellence in our accounting teams to provide guidance to our business partners and ensure we comply with all our financial reporting obligations as a public company.

THE TEAM

The GL Accounting Team is a crucial part of the accounting & controllership organization and is responsible for ensuring all accounting entries under its scope are complete, accurate and in compliance with the company’s accounting policies. The GL Accounting team contributes to month-end reporting, quarterly & annual public financial reporting filings and financial statement audits.

THE ROLE

Working as part of a global finance team, the GL Accounting Manager will manage monthly close procedures across Eventbrite’s consolidated business to ensure high quality financial reporting. You will be responsible for specific sections within Eventbrite’s global GL and will lead a team of three talented GL Accountants in Ireland. You will partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. You will also manage the audit of local statutory financial statements in many of Eventbrite’s international entities.

YOU WILL

  • Manage the GL Accounting month-end close process by ensuring that:
  • all month-end and quarter-end tasks are completed in accordance with the close schedule,
  • all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with Eventbrite’s accounting policies,
  • account reconciliations are completed in a timely manner, and
  • all fluxes are adequately explained
  • Supporting audits: work closely with our internal and external auditors to provide all necessary information so that financial statements can be filed in a prompt manner
  • Manage a team of GL accountants: set goals and objectives, provide leadership, monitor performance and give feedback
  • Continuous Process Improvement: identify areas of improvement in accounting processes & systems and collaborate with other teams to implement improvements
  • Participate in other finance projects as they arise

THE SKILLSET

  • Previous experience of managing the month-end close process in a public company
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS (FRS101 & 102), with an understanding of internal controls and SEC annual/quarterly filings
  • Experience of managing and mentoring a team
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills
  • Qualified accountant with Big 4 training experience and a minimum of 5 years post qualified experience
  • Knowledge of ERPs and wider financial systems
