Built is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our Platform Services team. Our mission is to enable scale and reusability for the rest of the technology teams. We achieve this by building high- quality, reusable services that empower our organization to move faster and more efficiently.
Our vision is to create a strong platform foundation that allows for easy consumption of shared services by other teams, with well-defined APIs and documentation that can be integrated seamlessly into any product or service. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for building and maintaining these critical platform services. You will oversee the development of scalable, reliable, and secure services, focusing on minimizing technical debt and ensuring high-quality documentation.

Lead a team of software engineers and data engineers, and provided guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the successful delivery of platform services.
Be a change agent and continuously look for opportunities to raise the bar of the company & the people.
Drive the technical vision and architecture of the platform services to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Collaborate with Customer Engineering teams to understand their requirements and identify opportunities to abstract features and functionality into a platform service.
Continuously evaluate and improve our platform services to meet the changing needs of our business and customers.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders like PM, UX, Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, etc., for the roadmap and priority alignment.
At least 8 years of experience in software engineering with a minimum of 3 years in managing engineering teams
Strong technical background with experience in modern software development methodologies, cloud technologies, and microservices architecture.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
High ownership and accountability of delivery and your work product.
Takes a data-driven & metrics approach for decision-making
Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience working in a growing company - Start-Up or Growth Stage
Desired Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
10+ years of hands-on experience with software development technologies and frameworks, such as Python or Node.js
Experience managing Data Engineers and Analysts
Experience building APIs and making them available to internal and external customers as part of Platform Services offerings
Experience working & partnering with engineering teams and influencing the adoption of shared services.
Built’s salary range for this position is $180,000-230,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Built will include equity, variable compensation, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, an unlimited PTO policy, and other benefits.
