Open to remote work , but must be able to get to our HQ in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on a regular basis

Our UI/UX Designer / Prototyper focuses on designing and building early versions of new software products.
This role is primarily focused on creating mockups and designs for our portfolio companies' products.
It requires a mixture of skills:
a creative role, designing the product itself, and
a quantitative, research role, bringing that design into contact with real customers and learning from their interactions with it.
One implication of that mixture is that you've got enough ego to design things that you think might change the world - but humble enough to take tough feedback when customers don't like it. And then adjust for the next version of your design.
The ideal candidate for this role is familiar with modern tooling to build clickable wireframes , quickly and efficiently, without a technical collaborator in most cases.
You'll work closely with our Technical Prototyper on these projects.
