The Opportunity

We’re looking for a battle-tested Director of Revenue Operations to drive data clarity and insights, process efficiency, and tech stack mastery to support top-line revenue growth for the company. Your job will be to lead our sales and marketing operations team in owning the process, systems, reporting, and insights that underpin our go-to-market strategy.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you’ll be expected to instill best practices in our Revenue Operations and create unparalleled simplicity and visibility to our business.

How You’ll Contribute at Buildout

  • You will work closely with the CGO to lead all revenue operations activities including full funnel marketing metrics, territory planning, commission structure, sales process and workflow, reporting and other activities critical to the success of a sales organization.
  • Data and Insights:
    • You will create the single-source-of-truth for our sales and marketing reporting, acting as the owner of the project but collaborating closely with our finance and board teams.
    • You will develop data driven, customer-centric segmentation strategies, creating innovative sales analytics and reporting profitable revenue plans that increase productivity in all sales channels.
    • You will drive our forecasting and pipeline management, including process, methodology, metrics and data.
    • You will be a key interpreter of our data, delivering actionable insights, trends, and recommendations to the Revenue leadership team, and you will be responsible for cascading information to the larger Buildout organization.
  • Process and Team Productivity:
    • You will assist in annual planning and develop universal account planning format for the sales team.
    • You will support sales leadership in performance tracking and team evaluations.
    • You will leverage relevant sales data from Salesforce to support productivity improvements.
    • You will own the execution of compensation and spiff programs for the revenue organization.
  • Tech and Systems:
    • You will source, negotiate, and audit all elements of our tech stack, eliminating redundancies, getting best prices, and seeking out innovative technologies.
    • You will proactively identify SFDC and HubSpot automation opportunities including 3rd party solutions and recommend process improvements to drive operational efficiency
    • You will oversee management of SFDC and HubSpot data, fields and processes to ensure system and data integrity
    • You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, and Finance) to understand business needs and identify solutions to enable the business to scale
    • With your team, you will support, maintain, develop and continuously improve adoption of sales tech stack.
  • Quota, compensation, and territory planning:
    • You will be responsible for quota and territory planning for all reps - from BDRs to Account Executives to Account Management, across all business lines.
    • You will be responsible for compensation plan execution and tracking, working with the managers to design plans that incent the appropriate behaviors and drive performance.
  • Management:
    • You will be a deft manager of allocated resources, knowing how to divvy up responsibility, finding budget wins whenever possible and running an efficient, highly talented team.
    • You will lead by example as a part of the Revenue team, driving results through an earnest desire to solve problems with unparalleled integrity.

  • Technically Knowledgeable – Able to understand data flows, gain access to data available and necessary for evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of all within a sales or marketing role
  • Analytical – Extremely detail-oriented, accurate and organized. Highly capable in quantitative and qualitative analysis of data to arrive at the central meaning and the impact to the business, and relevant to the GTM strategy. It’s not just the “what”, but the “so what?”.

  • Efficient – focused on delivering insights which can prove valuable for the CGO, sales and marketing leadership and multiple other stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

**What You’ll Bring to Buildout **

  • 6+ years of sales and marketing operations experience, with a specific strategic and tactical knowledge of Hubspot and SFDC environments
  • 3+ years of management
  • A hands-on and deep understanding of B2B SaaS metrics, sales compensation frameworks, account planning and market segmentation, demand generation and funnel analysis
  • A maniacal detail-orientedness, that you balance with speed to output
  • An unabashed love of data, a badge you wear with pride
  • A tinkering mindset, with a willingness to get your hands dirty
