As a Business Development Manager, Private Equity Fund Formation (Law):<br><br>You will expand Carta’s distribution and market share by helping us deepen working relationships with key partners—and developing relationships with new ones. You will represent Carta as a valuable contributor to the Venture Capital &amp; Private Equity ecosystem, helping us to drive VC and PE fund penetration.&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>Create champions for Carta’s fund administration products (fund formation, SPV formation, valuations, KYC / AML, and portfolio insights) for venture capital and private equity funds within the investment management ecosystem by partnering with, developing scalable strategies for, and engaging with law firm fund formation practices&nbsp; &nbsp;</li>
<li>Work cross-functionally with Product, Delivery, Engineering, Implementations, Support, and Marketing to collect feedback from law partners, relay internally, and drive cross-functional conversations and roadmap for a strategy on deepening our mutual client penetration with preferred law firms</li>
<li>Develop and execute strategies to convert law firms where Carta does not have deep relationships into preferred partners</li>
<li>Coordinate and work alongside our Sales team to activate mutual books of business with law firms&nbsp;</li>
<li>Lead discovery on additional paths for Carta to add value to our law firm partners to drive new business to Carta</li>
<li>Drive non-linear referral motions with law firm partners to reliably drive a 50%+ increase in referrals from law firm partners</li>
<li>Create awareness of Carta’s fund and investor tools for venture capital and private equity funds</li>
<li>Represent Carta in the field, meeting with current and prospective partners and attending industry events on Carta’s behalf (up to 25% travel)</li>

<h2><strong>The Team You'll Work With</strong></h2>
<p>You’ll be joining our Business Development team. The&nbsp; Business Development Manager, Private Equity Fund Formation (Law) will represent Carta in-market and advance the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities with law firm partners for venture capital and private equity funds. The Business Development team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing impactful external relationships, driving cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, helping to change practices, and creating more owners across a rapidly evolving industry.</p>

<p>Qualifications</p>

<li>Significant knowledge of Venture Capital / Private Equity funds and the broader industry</li>
<li>Strong familiarity with how law firms support VC and PE funds&nbsp;</li>
<li>Relevant network of contacts within the community, specifically encompassing law firms&nbsp;</li>
<li>Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers&nbsp;</li>
<li>Deep understanding of SaaS business models</li>
<li>Relevant Business Development / Partnerships or other industry experience</li>
</ul>
<p>Nice-to-Have</p>
<ul>
<li>Prior experience practicing as a fund formation / investment fund attorney, paralegal, or compliance provider</li>
<li>Prior experience supporting back office functions at a venture capital or private equity fund</li>
<li>Prior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners, specifically law firm partners, but&nbsp; including audit firms, investment funds, consultants, or other technology companies&nbsp;</li>
<li>Understanding of fund formation, regulations that apply to funds, fund administration, audits, or valuation services</li>

<h2><strong>Salary</strong></h2>
<p>Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is:&nbsp;</p>
