The 16 Tech Innovation District is a growing destination for innovation and entrepreneurship and a driver
of the tech enablement of the life-sciences and advanced manufacturing industries key to Indiana's
economy. Connected to diverse neighborhoods in downtown Indianapolis and intentionally resourced
with facilities and programs to foster innovation, 16 Tech is home today to three buildings with 200+
innovation related entities that employ more than 800 people. Over the next ten years, 16 Tech is
projected to grow to 13 mixed-use buildings and create 3,000+ jobs.
The nonprofit 16 Tech Community Corporation is responsible for the physical and programmatic
development of the 16 Tech Innovation District. 16 Tech Community Corporation's mission is to create an

POSITION OVERVIEW
The VP of Administration is a new role responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving
the internal operations of 16 Tech Community Corporation. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of
Administration will drive the development and execution of strategies and capabilities across key areas of
the organization, including annual planning, talent development, grants and project management,
internal communications, and technology. An internal leadership role, this position is critical to driving
employee engagement and the culture of the organization while enhancing the operational efficiency of a
dynamic non-profit organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Internal Operations:
• Work with the CEO and functional leaders to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards
16 Tech's strategic plan including developing and tracking key performance indicators to
measuring progress towards organizational goals and objectives.
• Lead organization wide annual and quarterly planning efforts working closely and collaboratively
with the CFO and functional leaders to ensure clear and aligned priorities.
• Identify, develop and implement organization-wide policies and standards to ensure consistent
operations across the organization.
• Spearhead the development of new capabilities, processes, and procedures to keep pace with
the current and future needs of a dynamic organization.
• Responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing the grants management function, to
ensure the timely completion and submission of all grant applications and grant reports.

People Operations and Employee Engagement:
• Oversee the full life cycle of the employee experience from talent acquisition, onboarding, to
performance management and talent development to offboarding.
• Responsible for leading and measuring employee engagement to enhance the overall employee
experience; identify, lead and manage staff training needs, individual development plans as well
as annual staff and team retreats.
• Lead internal communications to foster company culture and employee engagement, including
ways to recognize employee contributions.
• Oversee 16 Tech's PEO strategy and relationship including the solicitation of consultants or
brokers to assist in evaluation of various benefits related programs, policies and partners.
• Coordinate the recruitment of 16TCC interns and help manage intern experience across
organization.

Project Management and IT:
• Foster a culture of project management to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of crossfunctional projects.
• Oversee the technology strategy used to collect, measure and use data for program evaluation,
decision-making and demonstrating 16 Tech's impact. Manage the identification and evaluation
of outsourced IT partners to ensure software platforms lead to efficient and smooth workflow.
• Direct and facilitate procurement activities for technical services and consulting support,
managing vendor selection (RFPs) through to contract execution.
• Oversee third-party vendors and consultants.

Board & Corporate Governance:
• Lead the planning of board agendas and board materials.
• Ensure that various 16 Tech entities are up to date in corporate governance.
• Manage bi-annual board surveys including administering annual conflict of interest policy.|

Other:
• Coordinate the office operations of 16 Tech Community Corporation.
• Other duties as requested.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• At least 7-10 years of experience in a leadership position that supports the planning, execution,
and operations of a dynamic or matrixed organization.
• Well-rounded, forward-looking leader with a track-record of optimizing operational performance
and implementing cross-functional strategies.
• Knowledge of the principles and current concepts of organizational and program design and
management.
• Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and
communicating effectively between diverse internal stakeholders.
• Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and consensus building with diverse groups to solve
complex and sensitive problems.
• Understanding of staff development, supervision, and team building. Employee life cycle
management experience.
• Experience managing and evaluating third-party partners.

• Bachelor's Degree required
