Staff Analytical Scientist at Novilytic | Powderkeg

The Staff Analytical Scientist is a key position within Novilytic who will help develop various analytical tools for complex biological assays. These analytical tools are based on various qualitative and quantitative liquid chromatographic (LC), and electrophoretic techniques (CE).

The Staff Analytical Scientist will be part of a team involved in sample preparation, method development, and data analysis. The scientist will assess protein pharmaceuticals in biological extracts using liquid chromatography (LC), and electrophoresis (CE). This individual will independently handle duties including ordering the requisite supplies for their work, assisting in the maintenance of the laboratory and equipment being used, establishing, and maintaining reports on their research findings, and producing presentations for participation in team meetings. A critical component of this job is to maintain close communication with the directors of each department in the laboratory harmoniously and productively.

  • Responsibilities:

    • Develop and perform various applications by using LC and CE

    • Collaboration with cross-functional product line directors and scientists

    • Work independently

    • Maintain laboratory and equipment.

    • Keep detailed daily records of research activities.

    • Summarize and prepare worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, and report the work being performed to the supervisor and team

  • Required Skills and Experience

    • MS/Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering

    • Organic synthesis experience preferred

    • Significant experience in commercial or laboratory environments

    • Product and Project development experience

    • Excellent communication skills and work ethic

    • Organizational and time management skills to meet timelines

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • 5 years experience in the specified area(s)
