WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own hardware from concept generation to real world use
• Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
• Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
• Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
• Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
• Travel to test sites as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
• Experience in the mechanical design of high power battery packaging including, bus bars, cable routing, thermal management, BMS and cell monitoring integration, etc.
• 2+ years of mechanical experience in a professional experience
• CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
• Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
• High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
• BS, Mechanical Engr, MS or PhD in an engineering field
• Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. top secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in NX/Teamcenter
• A whole-picture mindset with a focus on complex system integration
• Familiarity with high power (50+kW) and high voltage (>400Vdc) design, testing, and lab safety
• Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (radios, computers, sensors etc.)
• Experience with industry best practices relating to machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing
