WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own hardware from concept generation to real world use
- Use first principles physics as a basis for every decision
- Lead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plans
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
- Travel to test sites as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)
- Experience in the mechanical design of high power battery packaging including, bus bars, cable routing, thermal management, BMS and cell monitoring integration, etc.
- 2+ years of mechanical experience in a professional experience
- CAD skills (any platform) and ability to make high quality engineering drawings that meet common industry standards
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills
- High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles
- BS, Mechanical Engr, MS or PhD in an engineering field
- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. top secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in NX/Teamcenter
- A whole-picture mindset with a focus on complex system integration
- Familiarity with high power (50+kW) and high voltage (>400Vdc) design, testing, and lab safety
- Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs (radios, computers, sensors etc.)
- Experience with industry best practices relating to machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing
