As a Purchasing Specialist, you will join our Supply Chain Team at the Lexington, MA location. The right person for this role has excellent communication and organization skills as well as great attention to detail and customer service. The Purchasing Specialist will be a collaborative partner within the Supply Chain Team, working closely with engineering, finance, and production to ensure parts that compose our revolutionary products arrive with good quality, on time, and at a fair cost. You will help with sourcing a myriad of various categories including structural parts, electronics, and others.

This role provides the unique opportunity to influence development of our global supply chain along with witnessing tangible results from your efforts as we successfully deploy to customers. We are looking for a teammate who is proactive and eager to navigate the nuances of cradle-to-grave procurement and who will help us achieve our aggressive objectives.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with technical and engineer leads to understand prototype and production procurement needs and requirements.
• Work to issue purchases orders quickly and accurately to meet aggressive timelines with support from HQ, if needed.
• Ensure that suppliers acknowledge receipt of purchase orders.
• Document and monitor purchase order delivery dates and resolve any issues or delivery delays that may occur.
• Report supply shortages to technical and engineer leads.
• Resolve any receiving and invoicing issues.
• Support cost savings initiatives.
• Identify supply chain critical path items and work to drive successful on-time delivery of those items.
• Manage suppliers based on reliability, quality, and price.
• Strive to development good working relationships with all suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of procurement related experience within a manufacturing industry with a track record of establishing and maintaining a host of different workflows.
• Experience with strategic supply chain activities such as planning, sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance management.
• Recent experience with the procurement of complex items.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to operate independently.
• Ability to work with engineering and manufacturing on a technical level.
• Moves fast, has a positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
• Good data and business systems instincts.
• Bachelor of Science degree preferred, not required.
