Responsibilities

• Support and drive the development and implementation of business legal and regulatory compliance strategy and contribute to the development of the general business strategy for the Futures business
• Act as contact point for business development, company legal and compliance team to manage legal and compliance efforts in response to matters encountered by the business, work with internal stakeholders to provide sound and robust legal advice and support
• Advise on new product launches, guide acquisition strategy, anticipate and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current laws relevant to substantive areas to provide strategic advice and foster compliance
• Identify compliance framework developments, align and promote consistency of approach in compliance matters between the internal stakeholders
• Take prudent risks within the context of the overall business, advise and implement solutions to address issues identified

Requirements

• At least 10 years of regulatory experience in financial institutions with experience applying for and acquiring derivatives licenses globally
• Develop extensive subject matter experience in major European regulations (eg. MIFID, EMIR, SFTR, FMIA, EBA, MiCA, and any other applicable rules and regulations)
• Consult on business and functional projects to facilitate compliant commercial activity
• Develop strong relationships with stakeholders in the business, engineering, compliance, and legal to support reporting functions
• Train and motivate colleagues to achieve personal and departmental business and risk targets
• Work with product/tech team on implementing regulatory requirements, with previous experience co-ordinating regulatory projects and an understanding of product development flow
• Excellent communication, negotiation & management skills
