Location: Los Angeles, CA or Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Team: Product Design
At ChowNow, the Product Design team has a passion for helping restaurants
thrive and making an impact on our local communities. We’re working on big
challenges, with the goal of helping local restaurants survive, thrive, and
build relationships with the customers who love them. Product Designers are
invaluable to ChowNow’s mission and customer experience.
As our company enters a new stage of growth, we’re looking for highly skilled,
collaborative, and proactive Designers who can champion and further our
culture of human-centered design and innovation. Your work will help ChowNow’s
restaurant partners thrive and serve their communities with delightful,
convenient experiences.
ABOUT US:
ChowNow’s vision is to become the leading North American platform connecting
diners and independent restaurants for at-home dining. The ChowNow Platform
continues to grow its product offerings and bring restaurants and diners
closer together. Our marketplace provides a commission-free ordering for
restaurants nationwide and diners with an ever-growing selection of
independent restaurants. Our demand network provides diners with the ability
to order where they’re already online, including Google, Yelp, Instagram,
Snap, and many others. And our white-labeled online ordering system provides
restaurants with a branded experience for diners on their website and their
own iOS and Android apps for a reasonable monthly fee regardless of order
volume. To date, we’ve created over 20,000 apps for our restaurant partners –
something that’s never been done before in our category. We operate this way
because of our belief in being fair, sustainable, and equitable with our
restaurant partners and the same goes for our culture.
Diversity, teamwork, and mutual respect are among our core company values. We
pride ourselves on giving our teams plenty of opportunities to make their
mark. As we expand to new markets, while scaling responsibly, those
opportunities to create, build, and grow will only increase.
Join us and help ensure ChowNow becomes the diner’s first choice for socially
responsible online ordering. Together we can preserve neighborhood flavor, one
restaurant at a time.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Through human-centered design methods, Product Designers understand pain
points, define vision states, and design + codify ChowNow’s digital language
to produce a best-in-class customer experience. This Product Design position
requires both strong visual and UX design skills as they will contribute to a
squad focusing on our Marketplace iOS + Android Apps. Through collaboration
with UX Researchers, Brand Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, and other
stakeholders you will identify opportunities and execute end-to-end features
to differentiate them from a competitive industry.

and contribute to it. A strong understanding of foundational graphic design
principles (color, layout, type) is required to develop visually compelling
and usable diner-facing products. Additionally, this role will require a
strong understanding of native mobile UI and interaction patterns. We aim to
win app of the year and the ability to work within expected patterns and know
when to push beyond will be crucial.

to develop scalable, intuitive, and performant products that our customers
love. Understanding the importance of user testing and feedback is integral to

one another.
