About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager with strong leadership and communication skills who has a passion for mentoring and developing the talented engineers who are building the data platform that powers our best-in- class enterprise SaaS product. The data platform team is responsible for the creation and management of ETL pipelines that bring various sources of CRM and sales-related data into our data warehouse; the dynamic creation, updating, migration and management of our data repositories; ensures that even the largest analytic queries are performant; and manages the services and much of the cloud infrastructure that underlies the entire platform. Data from the platform is consumed by analytics and real-time insights features, data science services, end user applications and APIs. The data platform sits squarely and the center of Clari’s long-term roadmap for success.

This is a fully remote opportunity and can be worked from any location in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Play an instrumental role in building our state-of-the-art time series data platform that processes 20M+ workflows daily, and help scale the platform 10X to 200M+ workflows daily
• Work cross-functionally with engineering leadership, architects, product managers, customer success leadership and application analysts to help build and scale the product, and with customer success managers and technical support specialists to make our users successful
• Motivate, engage, coach and provide leadership to a team of talented software engineers while building an environment that is conducive to their development and delivery to the best of their ability
• Own the responsibility of making the product successful in a fast-paced environment with deep focus on quality, scalability and architecture
• Play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving Clari’s technology stack to support our extremely ambitious growth plans
• Collaborate & communicate across global product and engineering teams to plan, prioritize and execute the technical and architectural roadmap for the product
• Continually improve engineering operations and processes through data-driven decision making
• Drive the adoption of key engineering best practices to improve the quality and reliability of the team's deliverables

Qualifications

• 2+ years of managerial experience leading and building successful engineering teams and delivering products to customers
• 7+ years of professional experience using Java or similar object-oriented languages
• Experience building highly-scalable data platforms that process millions of records a day
• Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns and data modeling with a focus on performance, code quality, and scalability
• Experience managing applications in production environment that support high availability and resiliency, and low latency at scale; exposure to managing production outages and remediations
• Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in enterprise cloud computing at scale using public cloud services like AWS (ideal), GCP or Azure
• Creative thinking, adaptability and excellent problem solving skills
