About the Position

This individual will be a leader among leaders in our expert Sales Engineering team, who will help to ensure successful customer engagements that lead to value delivery and business growth.   • Build and coach a high-performance team of technical sales resources
  • Develop product expertise to convey the value, benefits and differentiators of Contrast
  • Hire and continually enable a team of experienced sales engineers
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish programs to accelerate sales efforts
  • Create innovative and repeatable workflows and processes that improve team efficiency and facilitate sales efforts
  • Be a customer advocate and raise awareness of challenges inhibiting customer success
  • Follow market trends and common customer needs in order to influence strategic product direction
  • Always be ready to lead customers meetings and deliver impactful presentations that help to drive revenue
  • Establish a strong core competency in solution architecture, enabling customers to envision a new, transformative way of securing their applications with Contrast
  • Develop best practices for customer evaluations that prove the capabilities and value of Contrast
  • Build and develop relationships with key clients and channel partners
  • Manage territorial schedules for optimum utilization of resources in assisting with customer and channel partner meetings
  • Lead by example through involvement in OWASP, ISSA, and other industry groups
  • Close business with accounts of all sizes, and develop relationships with key customers
  • Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products
  • Travel as needed to support sales activities


  • 8+ years of enterprise pre-sales experience
  • 2+ years of demonstrated management or supervisory-level experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and execute in a methodical and disciplined manner
  • Proven leadership experience and adaptability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Bachelors or Masters's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Deep knowledge of DevOps and modern software development methodologies and related systems
  • Practical experience with modern DevOps tooling such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and more
  • Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Pivotal, etc.
  • 2+ years of software development experience with Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, or Node.js preferred
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in order to understand and articulate both the business benefits (value proposition) and technical advantages of Contrast products and solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of security solutions, technologies, and processes including the following: Java, .NET, Node.js, SDLC, Linux, Windows, Network architecture/implementation/configuration experience, packet flow, Development, Testing/QA, CI/CD, Production, SAST, DAST, IAST, vulnerability remediation, Tomcat, Apache, WAFs, JIRA, Jenkins, general bug tracking and build systems
  • Ability to code – not an expert – but must have some programming ability
  • Specific application security experience is a big plus
  • Ability to travel 30%+, or as needed
  • Vaccination (COVID) is currently required to travel and visit customers/attend events
