Relationships:

As an embedded designer on the Serverless team, you will work alongside the Product Manager and an engineering team in Israel. Your relationship with this team will be key, as together you will all take responsibility for building and growing the Serverless product. While reporting to the Manager of UX Design, your on-site engineering manager will be your primary relationship for day-to-day work. You will also be part of a global UX team, with meetings that require occasional mid-evening slots to accommodate time zones.

During your first year at Contrast, you will:

  • Become a vital partner on the Serverless team, playing a central role in the product’s success.
  • Establish user experience as a differentiator for the product, making it an irresistible proposition for customers with cloud infrastructure.
  • Take on tough design problems, communicate your solutions to key stakeholders in Product and Engineering, and guide design solutions from inception to implementation.
  • Evolve the design of the Serverless product, balancing speed of feature implementation with a sustainable design approach.
  • Partner with senior UX peers to work on the realignment of the Contrast product set into a seamless, unified experience.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers to develop and promote our user personas, using them as a central tool in making the Serverless product an irresistible proposition for customers.
  • Directly influence and contribute to design process and culture within Contrast.

  • You look for the customer’s biggest problems and pain points, and solve for them accordingly
  • You have an appetite for solving complex problems and designing technical software products
  • You can link design choices to business goals, data, and bring objectivity through research insights
  • You communicate through narratives that are centered on the user’s perspective
  • You are technically aware, gathering as much technical insight as you need to better inform your designs
  • You enjoy designing interactions wherever they occur, from the UI to CLI
  • You frame problems in a way that opens the door to diverse, effective solutions
  • You focus on delivering value to the customer quicklyYou practice inclusive design

The experience and skills you will bring to Contrast:

  • A minimum of 5 years UX design experience on enterprise products
  • Working as a partner to a Product Manager to compose user stories, preferably job stories
  • Designing in ways that assist users to navigate through data-intense interfaces, and guiding them to priority actions
  • Ability to take your ideas to a high-fidelity finish, preferably using Figma
  • Designing software in a changeable, agile environment

Challenges:

  • Demonstrating resilience when a design solution is questioned, and wisdom to know when to persevere, or to save ideas for another day.
  • Bringing others into the design process, and engender shared ownership of a solution.
  • Graceful evolution of an existing design, opportunistically correcting any design debt as the product grows.

While not essential, please let us know if you have:

  • Previous history with working on products that handle large amounts of data
  • A knowledge of security tools (ours or our competitors), or with the concepts of appSec and devOps
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in technology, software, or design-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
