Join our new and growing BA practice. Become a trusted adviser for the customer. Demonstrate your leadership skills and learn from colleagues. This position requires a blend of technical ability, business savvy, negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Using your insurance industry knowledge and skills, you will question and determine the true business need and value for each requirement, redefining and aligning them to our Guidewire application capabilities. Maximise the use of out-of-the-box functionality. Support estimation efforts, advising on key trade-offs between scope, schedule and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with the customers and translate business requirements into functional specifications
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently as well as influence outcomes
  • Participate in backlog prioritisation, sprint planning and coordinate acceptance of completed defects and user stories
  • Work with quality analysts to triage defects and review test plans
  • Work with configuration and integration developers to ensure their design and implementations meet the business requirements
  • Research solutions and work with domain specialists to provide advice and recommendations to the product team for aligning business requirements to base product functionality

What skills or experience do I need to have?

  • Some knowledge of the insurance industry – especially with claims handling, underwriting, and broker services.
  • 2 - 4 years of business analyst experience on technology implementations
  • Experience defining business requirements (e.g. process maps, use cases, etc.) for a software project using Agile methodologies
  • Comfortable working with technology and demonstrating system functionality
  • Ability to tackle business problems analytically and identify when business requirements are not in the scope
  • Ability to take care of issues directly, firmly, and on time
  • Continually learning with a proactive demeanour
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business, or equivalent
