Guidewire’s Delivery Services Engineering (DSE) team is uniquely positioned within Product Development and Operations (PDO) as a research and development organization focused on developing and maintaining business-critical tools for the field – used by Guidewire Delivery Services, Partners, and Customers.

We are looking for innovative architects to join the DSE team at an exciting time as we re-platform our Excel-based tooling to modern platforms such as Salesforce CPQ. This is an excellent opportunity for creative engineers to evolve our SurePath tools to support better our transition to a SaaS company requiring new levels of global scalability.

You will be responsible for improving and maintaining our tools and utilities to help users meet the strategic goals of our global Delivery Services organization and our broader ecosystem, including Customers and Partners. In addition, you will develop new tools features and maintain toolsets based on the requirements elicited from a wide range of stakeholders, including Sales, Customer Success, Delivery Services, Cloud Operations, Cloud Transition, Partners.

We have a hybrid way of working, and this role would require 20% travel.

Your day-to-day:

  • Serve as point of contact for Salesforce CPQ to answer questions on existing project estimation and architect ways to migrate the tooling to the Salesforce platform.
  • Integrate Salesforce CPQ with existing estimation tools to support their transition
  • Hands-on development of Jutro (REACT based platform) based tools
  • Maintain Estimation tooling developed using .NET, Docker containers, React based frontend, and Jenkins
  • Coordinate with other teams on dependencies such as alignment with our SurePath methodology and any associated SurePath add-on features.
  • Participate in cross-functional development efforts comprising local engineers and others based in our Delivery Services locations worldwide.
  • Merging content (and ad-hoc changes) post-SurePath Methodology summits where teams of Subject Matter Experts update project estimation models

What you need to be successful:

  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
  • At least 5 years of hands-on Software development experience
  • Experience with Object-Oriented programming is a must.
  • Experience with the majority of the following technology stack: Kotlin, Spring Boot, React (or Guidewire Jutro framework), Git, Docker, Jenkins
  • Knowledge of Excel // familiar with .NET development
  • Experience with React
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Being able to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to develop technical specifications and implement them using custom programming and product configurations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, enhance, test, and deploy complicated integration software.
  • Ability to work with our Delivery Services consultants to review technical designs and participate in code reviews.
  • Have participated and contributed Agile ceremonies (user story grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives).
  • Efficiently follow implementation schedules and provide ongoing support for technical projects and services.
