Guidewire Education needs an experienced developer who has an interest in applying their technical skills to teach others. In this role, you will use your 5+ years of object-oriented programming experience to craft engaging technical training content. You will review and refine scripts and storyboards and support rapid-release product launches for industry-leading enterprise software. You will stay current on your technology while updating your Guidewire certifications, mastering the latest features, tools, and methodology used during successful implementations.

What you need to succeed

  • High technical aptitude with a proven ability to quickly grasp technical concepts
  • 5+ years of object-oriented programming (Java, C#)
  • Prior experience delivering training to software developers
  • Experience with NodeJS, DOM, JavaScript and CSS
  • Comfortable presenting complex ideas in simple ways to a diverse learner audience
  • Resilience in both structured and unstructured situations
  • Comfortable with feedback and iteration on work
  • Great team player – your teammates enjoy talking to you and you enjoy talking to them

Key Assignments

  • Application of programming skills to create world-class training content
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain courseware and class development environments
  • Gather and analyze learning requirements
  • Deliver instructor-led sessions in virtual and onsite settings
  • Contribute to improve team processes and standards
  • Support internal initiatives to improve our team and training content

Bonus skills

  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • XML-based software configuration
  • Business proficiency in Spanish, French, Italian, German, or Japanese
  • 5+ years of property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry knowledge, ideally with experience deploying new product lines
  • Experience writing moderately complex SQL queries with SQL Server, ORACLE, MySQL or other RDBMS
  • Experience documenting microservices
  • Experience with modern software IDEs, including basic debugging tools
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts, ideally with some experience in database design in a business application environment
