New Customers to Guidewire Cloud require technical program guidance to be successful. A Cloud Solutions Technical Lead is a subscription-funded role accountable for charting a Customer’s technical course within the solution capabilities of Guidewire Cloud. Guidance may cover a broad range of cloud- related topics including Guidewire Cloud Platform, InsuranceSuite configuration, Cloud Standards, networking, data, integration, and AWS cloud solutions.

Engagement will begin post-contract and continue until the Customer is live and stable in Guidewire Cloud. This role is not an implementation project architecture role. Active engagement in early non-production issues will be critical in establishing clarity of ownership between the Customer implementation project and Guidewire Cloud.

Description:

We are looking for a passionate Guidewire technical expert to help ensure the technical success of Guidewire InsuranceSuite CloudCustomers.

As a Cloud Solutions - Technical Lead, you will provide architecture, design strategy, thought leadership, and technical expertise pertaining to InsuranceSuite implementation in Guidewire Cloud. You will take personal ownership of influencing Customer technology decisions to minimize program risk. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders at Guidewire such as Customer Success Managers, Cloud Support and Product Management. You will also work closely with our SI partners and Guidewire Delivery Services. Your goal is to delivery technical leadership, create confidence, and build trusted relationships with our most complex customers.

This is a huge opportunity to become part of a new team that is helping to define how we solution, engage, and support our Cloud customers. You will be responsible for providing advisory services and architecture support for multiple Customer Cloud programs. When a Customer’s requirement presents a new challenge our Cloud solution, you will lead internal stakeholders to identify and select the best path forward.

This role will be primarily “work at home” to start, and as world event situations clarify, may require 80% on-site work with customers in the Tokyo region. Occasional travel outside the region may be necessary for corporate or organizational events (1-2 times per year maximum).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert to InsuranceSuite customers on Guidewire Cloud Platform
  • Provide guidance on supported integration patterns as part of Guidewire Cloud Platform
  • Provide direction on Cloud Data Platform and Cloud Data Access
  • Serve as the primary point of contact on customer non-production environments issues to help facilitate resolution
  • Validate data migration strategies and establish supported migration patterns
  • Engage support from other Guidewire experts, when required to ensure Customer success
  • Guide Customers on delivery best practices and boost their productivity with Guidewire Cloud Platform
  • Partner with Guidewire Operations and Product Development teams to influence the prioritization of cloud capabilities
  • Provide timely resolutions to customer concerns
  • Partner with AWS to help address specific customer needs when appropriate
  • Guide and support our SI partners

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Cloud Platform and Cloud data platform knowledge and understanding.
  • Demonstrated skill in working with customers, partners and other third parties on large, complex transformational programs
  • Experience with large scale, technologically complex accounts, which regularly challenge product capabilities
  • Strong communication skills (listening, written and verbal)
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization (including customer executives) within a customer’s IT organization
  • Effectively communicates complex issues to non-technical staff and executives
  • Ability to work internally to productively influence Guidewire development priorities
  • Familiarity with the database, application and network technologies used in Guidewire Cloud (e.g. knowledge of Cloud platform, network, database, data access, and tenancy)
  • Knowledge of the software development process including agile and software design methodologies
  • Authorized to work in Japan
  • Fluent in both the Japanese language and the English language within business settings (both languages will be thoroughly evaluated)

  • Technical knowledge of GuidewireInsuranceSuite features, capabilities, best use and how to deploy, including knowledge of the Guidewire CloudPlatform and Cloud Data Platform
