As the Sr. Manager, People Operations, you will lead most sub functions of the
People Operations team. This team is responsible for ensuring Daves have high
quality benefits and wellness programs and is trusted to handle their everyday
employment needs, like payroll, immigration, leave of absences, etc. Under
your leadership, we will build a solid HR data infrastructure that will
eventually allow us to scale and surface new insights that support Dave to
make faster, data-informed people decisions. You bring to bear your
experience scaling global organizations to help Dave get ahead of any issues
that could arise and capitalize on any opportunities to support a world-class
employment experience.
What you'll do:
- Set the strategic direction and ensure effective administration for all employee benefits programs such as Medical, Dental, Vision plans; Life Insurance plans; Short- and Long-Term Disability; Spending Accounts; leave of absence policies; 401k etc.
- Develop a high performing, highly engaged team, ensuring team members are clear on what is expected of them as individuals and as part of the team, know where they stand against these expectations, and have the coaching to achieve their career goals
- Lead roadmapping exercise to ensure we’re maximizing value of company’s HRIS, Workday, in achieving organizational objectives and manage all implementations and integrations of vendors/carriers with Dave’s HRIS
- Oversee and ensure multi-state bi-weekly exempt and non-exempt payroll is processed accurately and timely for 275 and growing US employees, and consider opportunities to scale systems and processes globally should the need arise
- Build a strong partnership with Dave’s benefit’s brokers (Sequoia) and ensure we’re maximizing our partnership with them, including evaluating the effectiveness of Dave’s benefits offerings and stay abreast of external benchmarking and trends to evaluate and deliver a competitive benefit program
- Develop and implement a comprehensive wellness strategy for Dave that supports our business objectives
- Develop strategy and approach for all benefits related communications to highlight and educate employees on Dave’s benefit programs and ensure maximum participation
- Solicit buy-in as needed, and influences decision making at executive level in order to get initiatives across the line
- Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits and tax process and procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations, including building up capabilities with existing team where required to meet the demands of the organization and compliance needs
- Stay ahead of COVID-19 related guidelines, ensuring Dave is implementing policies and providing appropriate resources related to LOA, Disability Programs, EAP, current and future work from home benefits
- Oversee Dave’s immigration program administration
- Develop and adhere to annual budget planning for People Operations function
What you'll need:
- 8+ of relevant payroll and benefits professional experience in high-growth, fast-paced organizations that prioritize people/talent as an advantage
- 3+ years of direct people manager experience
- Deep familiarity with the functional requirements for this role (payroll, benefits, HRIS, immigration, onboarding and offboarding, compliance), and how cross functional dependencies may affect the attainment of goals
- Experienced with communicating complex ideas to varying levels of leadership and the impact on Dave’s employees
- Understanding of federal and state regulations on benefits, retirement, leaves of absence
- Knowledge & understanding of equity, mobility programs and multi-state tax theory
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
- Facility with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and using data to drive decision-making
- Proven ability to adapt and quickly change direction when necessary in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to assess and provide input into the impact of a business process change
- Great communication skills that can build strong working relationships with external advisors and internal teams
- High degree of curiosity, analytical ability, detail-orientation
- Can think strategically and act operationally
