Manager, Brand & Content at Ellevation | Powderkeg

We are seeking a business-savvy storyteller to help build awareness of Ellevation’s products and services, attract new prospects, and engage our Community. They will partner closely with and support the efforts of Product Marketing and Community & Events to streamline messaging, ensure brand consistency, and tell stories that drive irrational brand love. The role will require hands-on content development, managing a team of design, copywriting, video production, and social media specialists. This person will also collaborate with subject-matter experts and external partners to meet content goals and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Elevate the brand ensuring our narrative and mission are delivered consistently and effectively across all audiences at various stages of their respective journeys
  • Develop standard operating model and workflow/procedures for the planning, execution, optimization, distribution, and amplification of marketing content
  • Oversee content strategy driving thought leadership, engagement, and demand generation across paid, owned, and earned channels
  • Establish and enforce editorial and brand guidelines and governance including the centralization of content creation and storage across the company
  • Construct a success measurement framework to guide our content strategy
  • Collaborate and consult with other departments in content planning and development
  • Lead and develop a team of in-house and external content creators
  • Manage social media manager in the areas of content, promotion, engagement, performance management, and customer service

Within 1 month, you will:

  • Become acquainted with our products, brand assets, and personas
  • Understand the reach and engagement of historical content efforts
  • Conduct an audit of our existing content and identify key opportunities

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Establish a cadence of shareouts to report on content marketing performance
  • Execute brand awareness research via an external vendor

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Hire and onboard a Social Media & Communications Manager
  • Develop, socialize and deploy Brand and Tone of Voice Guidelines
  • Roll out a Digital Asset Management (DAM) platform

Within 12 months:

  • Develop a content strategy and unified content calendar that aligns brand and product messaging while delivering on key business objectives

Competencies:

  • 5+ years of brand strategy, writing, and/or content creation experience
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional storytelling, editing, and writing skills across a broad range of lengths (long-form + short-form) and formats (social media, blog posts, video, etc.)
  • Sophisticated understanding of content marketing analytics and experience working with marketing leadership to assess content marketing ROI and optimize campaigns
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence in a highly matrixed organization, move quickly, and develop collaborative cross-functional relationships
