About the Role:
The role is responsible for monitoring the self-driving system, collecting data and taking notes on system performance, and troubleshooting both software and hardware issues to provide useful feedback to Engineering to accelerate our tech progress. AV Software Operators work in the right seat next to our safety driver for 8+ hours a day. Cross country/state travel is sometimes required with stays lasting a few days to a few weeks. The AV Software Operator must be in constant communication with their assigned Safety Driver, describing system performance and annotating real-world situations. When not in the truck, AV Software Operators are responsible for continuous improvement of themselves and contributing to any goals that Operations and Embark put into place.
