**About the role: **

As a Truck Support Tech, you will be a critical team member in leading autonomous truck reliability and performance improvements. Truck Support Techs will be instrumental in keeping the trucks online by providing a mitigating solution with a focus on safety. This position plays an important role in identifying issues, keeping the trucks online, monitoring safety, and categorizing incidents that need escalation to appropriate teams. You will be responsible for executing the day-to-day truck support process and strategy.

Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assists truck teams ( operators and drivers) in getting the truck online and conducts a general readiness check as part of the pre-trip process.
• Remotely monitor diagnostics and assist truck teams in identifying and mitigating truck technical issues.
• Be the first point of contact for any service disruption events that may require a pause in operations.
• Document technical issues within Jira with proper categorization and escalate to the engineering team as needed.
• Retrieving footage for regular audits and reviewing live videos with a focus on safety.
• Extensive communication among team members during the handoff process and as a part of knowledge sharing.
• ​​Interface with peers across AV Engineering, Hardware Platform, Programs, and Product to define what information needs to be surfaced.
• Coach operators to help them understand different annotation tags and truck operating procedures.
• Help define, build and embody Embark’s culture and principles.

Abilities & Requirements:

• Must be a safety-minded individual - safety is our highest priority!
• Ability to maintain focus and great attention to detail for long periods of time while monitoring moving fleet and providing technical support for those trucks.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to build rapport and work with cross-functional teams.
• Possess an aptitude for learning new skills in identifying, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues.
• Ability to work within process workflows, identify gaps/opportunities, take initiative to improve the process, and recommend changes.
• Must be able to properly document truck operational issues in a detailed manner in Jira for engineering feedback.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous and open-ended problems.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Previous experience as an AV Operator is highly preferred.
• A passion for the autonomous vehicle & trucking industries
• Experience with Jira and or basic Linux
