Embark intends to complete a fully driverless demonstration of its technology in 2023, with a goal of commercializing its vehicles in 2024. In this context, we are hiring a Product Security Lead to ensure that, as the company makes the transition to commercialization, it is adhering to best-in-class standards when it comes to the digital security around our software offering.

The Product Security Lead will be a senior executive responsible for spearheading the definition, development and execution of our approach to product security. Our ideal candidate will excel at engaging with cross- functional stakeholders and be able to take strategic control of all objectives surrounding product security architecture, implementation and remediation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor and retain a team of experienced engineers focused on growing the Product Security function @ Embark
• Plan and execute on all Product Security initiatives, including - threat modeling, monitoring, response to threats, security architecture, design reviews, and secure software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Define and measure a set of comprehensive metrics that reflect our baseline product security posture
• Create long term roadmap objectives for Product Delivery leaders to help them understand and mitigate risk within their functions
• Build and refine existing key security programs, including our bug bounties, penetration testing and external security engagements

Preferred Experience

• 10+ years’ experience working with product development / engineering, application security and related disciplines
• Experience in driving effective implementation & adoption of Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and software maturity model
• Extensive knowledge in deploying and securing services in a hybrid cloud architectures (AWS)
• Strong working knowledge in securing Automotive, IoT, and other Edge Devices across multiple domains
• Designing and implementation experience with Zero Trust Architectures
• Experience securing remote updates (OTA) and data collection with distributed systems
