The Data Visualization team builds tools to interact with and understand the company’s self-driving vehicles. Our products allow engineers to follow vehicles in real-time, visualize recorded data, and develop new self-driving functionality. We do this by shipping sophisticated web applications that make use of the latest web technologies like WebGL, Web Workers, and much more.

Responsibilities:

• Devise and implement beautiful and useful 2D and 3D visualizations that can be used on our trucks, in AV software development, and on recorded data
• Collaborate with Embark’s robotics teams to understand product needs and implement them end-to-end
• Design user interfaces that turn data into understanding
• Ensure our products remain usable and performant even on resource-constrained devices

Your experience should include:

• 3+ years working on high performance web applications
• A deep understanding of web browsers, including the DOM, JavaScript, styling, and commonly used APIs
• Proficiency in React or other popular web frameworks

Bonus points if you have experience with:

• Flow/TypeScript
• WebSockets
• WebWorkers
