Embark Trucks is looking for a Wireless Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Operations team. This position will be directly responsible for leading initiatives to improve and iterate on existing data comm systems in our autonomous vehicles, in conjunction with other cross-functional engineering teams. You will be leveraging your own extensive wireless systems knowledge to improve performance while working within the requirements defined by other complex interrelated electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the Wireless design for our self driving data comm systems
  • Establish best practice procedures for testing and deploying data comms equipment within our fleets
  • Adopt a data-oriented approach to design the wireless infrastructure for our fleets and meet the evolving comms needs
  • Troubleshoot wireless hardware, documenting best practices and procedures.
  • Respond to continuously evolving requirements via cross collaborating with other engineering stakeholders to deliver on company goals.
  • A strong desire to test new technologies, systems and techniques in the mobile wireless field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Telecommunications / Wireless Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience with DevOps tools, including but not limited to Git, Linux or Terraform
  • Hands on experience working with network technologies like routing, QoS and load-balancing
  • 3+ years of experience with performance testing and troubleshooting RF networks LTE/5G
  • RF experience designing 4G and 5G in network infrastructure and mobile sites.
  • Hands on experience using RF test tools and equipment such as spectrum analyzers to troubleshoot RF related issues
  • Effective communication, including preparation of detailed reports and logs
  • Experience in the self driving industry is a plus
