Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Team: Scientific Computing
The charge of the Scientific Computing team at ECL is to build into Emerald's Symbolic Lab Language (SLL) a broad suite of analysis and simulation functions to accompany the comprehensive array of experimental capabilities running on the instrumentation in ECL facilities. These experimental techniques range across fields as diverse as physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular biology and cell biology.
The analysis and simulation functions in SLL serve as the computational tools necessary to drive the experimental design and data analysis steps in research workflows alongside the SLL experiment functions which directly control the conduct of those experiments in the lab. Developing these tools entails incorporating existing models and algorithms along with developing novel representations and models, and building the higher level capabilities these enable in analysis and simulation.
About You
We’re seeking extremely versatile computational scientists and applied mathematicians who are excited to reduce the barrier between experimental science and computational science.
About ECL
The Emerald Cloud Laboratory (ECL) enables life scientists to move out of the lab, and to conduct research entirely from a computer. Stepping away from manual completion of experiments at the bench, scientists on the ECL leverage the remote, automated execution of all standard biology and chemistry experiments in Emerald’s industrial lab facilities, working within a software platform for all stages of research workflows, from experimental design to data analysis.
